My friend Sippican sent me this link a few minutes ago and I think it’s perfect for this Memorial Day Weekend.
Sorry, I had to remove it – loud auto play annoys the heck out of me.

All these men are the same age as my eldest. It is impossible to truly understand the sacrifices these families have made…I
just hope I don’t see Fred Phelps or his bunch anywhere on the news this weekend.

Jewel: Unfortunately… You would see Phelps if’n you lived in NW Louisiana. I have it on good authority the Patriot Guard Riders will be there. Bless those guys.
You know Morgan also posted this, Daphne. I read my dailies pretty much in alphabetical order… and this is what I said there:
Some of us never forget. Some of us hope we never have to remember in the way the proud people in this short film remember. There is a certain fear…
My father didn’t die in combat. He was one of the lucky ones who survived 20+ missions in B-17s over Der Vaterland in the Big One. He made it back but a LOT of his friends did not. That said, he was buried with full military honors. The flag that draped his casket is one of my most treasured possessions.
Perfect Daphne.
Lovely. Thank you.

We have our own versions of Phelps and his douchetards in Pennsylvania. They go around the trailer parks with their weird little jack chick tracts denouncing the catholic church and homosexuals in vain hopes that they will be welcomed by the elderly and poorer denizens of these communities….and then they wonder why no one joins their splinter-faction reactionary Baptist cabal. They feel justifiably persecuted when the police come round to tell them to stop. You should see the euphoric look of rapture when they share ‘war’ stories. Would that they could but for a flicker of a moment feel the wrath of the world’s hatred against true Christians, many of whom are Catholics I’m sure. Maybe they wouldn’t gloat so much as they ‘suffer for the Gospel’.
It makes me angry that such find young men are sacrificed while the craven, socialist, ignorant, lickspittles at home spit on their memories.
Angry beyond belief.
